Fisher's Popcorn

If the smell of buttery caramel popcorn is wafting through the air, you’re bet you're in the vicinity of Fisher’s Popcorn. Since 1937 this popcorn has been a Delaware Beach staple!

The best way to enjoy the popcorn is in a bucket (get a large.. thank us later), fresh from the copper kettles, while you’re taking in the Delaware ocean views. Although caramel is the original — and the most-popular — Fisher's offers a handful of other flavors, including white cheddar and our personal favorite - Old Bay. 🦀

Heirloom

Farm to table eating has become very popular, and with Delmarva being such a rich agricultural location it makes it easy for restaurant owners to take this approach! But it takes a special kind of restaurant to execute this perfectly.

Insert:  Heirloom  // Located at: 212 Savannah Rd, Lewes, DE 19958

Heirloom embodies the farm-to-table concept beautifully — complete with mismatched silverware and antique china plates —while also paying homage to the building's rich and colorful history. We sipped on a glass of rosé while chatting with Owner Meghan Lee, Executive Chef Matt Kern, General Manager/ Project Manager Emma Loughran about what makes Heirloom so special!

Pig & Publican

Delmarva is such a culinary destination where you find restaurants that offer something slightly different - specifically Belgian style flair.

Their menu not only embodies Belgian cuisine but a good list of Belgian beers to enjoy. We sat down with General Manager Ed Pardocchi and Chef Brandon Sakelaridos to discuss some of the best dishes to order at the Pig and Publican!

99 Sea Level

If you are looking for an incredible place to celebrate an exciting milestone, have a romantic date night, or meet up with friends 99 Sea Level in Bethany Beach, DE is the place to go.

This is a true dining experience. From dining right next to the ocean to their farm to table freshness, you surely won't be disappointed.

When we arrived, we were greeted by their friendly staff and seated in a prime spot on their front deck. We ordered a bottle of Pellegrino for the table while we decided on drinks.

One look at the menu and you will be in awe with the selection. It embodies the Delaware culture and farming, and there is truly something for everyone.

We started off with a few appetizers - Cheese-Charcuteri Board / Suckling Pig / Norway Longoustine-Day Boat Scallops

IMG_2949.JPG

These are all appetizers! You could totally be satisfied ordering appetizers and sharing them. Or you can continue the feast and move on to the exquisite entrees.

This being our first time here, we decided to go big or go home. We ordered their Black Angus Porterhouse and the Maine Portland Live Lobster. When we say we went big - just look at the photos below. Both dishes were massive! We certainly weren't about to leave hungry.

We had such an amazing time. We are already trying to think of an excuse to celebrate so we can go back.

Pork roll, egg, and cheese is the unofficial (yet pretty much official) state sandwich. Adding a juicy hunk of beef elevates this Jersey classic to burger heaven.

Rise & Shine: Cheese, Pork Roll, Sunny Side Up Egg

This is the perfect burger to order if you're craving breakfast for lunch or dinner.

The best part was slamming down the bun and letting the yolk drip down the sides. The egg yolk complemented the flavors perfectly, and was extra tasty dipping my fries in!

WARNING: A nap is needed after consumption of this burger!

Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats

If you follow us on Instagram then you know by our numerous posts and too many insta stories, that we LOVE Dogfish Beer. So you can imagine how stoked we were to get into their newest location: Brewings & Eats.

We were happy to find out that they were keeping their original pub fair but also pumped that their highly professional & creative culinary team were whipping up some newly brand inspired menu items!

We had to try a little mix of everything.  We ordered: Pretzel Bites with Housemade Honey Mustard + 90 Minute IPA Cheddar - Fried Pickle Spears [that let me tell you, were the size of my head & you get 4 of them!] - Asian BBQ Pork Belly Taco - Pulled Pork Sandwich - Chili Cheese Dog Duo

We might of gone a little overboard but hey we couldn't resist! Just look at how amazing all this food looks.

Don't worry - we didn't forget the beer! We ordered two of our favorites: SeaQuench Ale & Indian Brown.

SeaQuench Ale is a session sour mash-up of a crisp Kolsch, a salty Gose, and a tart Berliner Weiss brewed in sequence with black limes, sour lime juice and sea salt to make this the most thirst-quenching beer Dogfish Head has ever brewed.

Indian Brown has characteristics of each style that inspired it: the color of an American Brown, the caramel notes of a Scotch Ale, and the hopping regimen of an India Pale Ale. This beer is brewed with Aromatic barley and organic brown sugar.

While we did make quite a dent in trying their menu, there is still so many other items we want to try! You will definitely find us back in the near future!

Tate's Bake Shop

What better day than National Chocolate Chip Day to introduce you to my FAVORITE chocolate chip cookie company of all time - Tate's Bake Shop.

I'm not going to lie, I have always been a soft and chewy cookie kind of girl - yet, Tate's is the complete opposite. Tate's Bake Shop has single-handedly changed the crunchy cookie game, proving that thin chocolate chip cookies are just as delicious as the undercooked, doughy ones. These crisp & butter cookies are so irresistible. You can truly taste the homemade love in every bite.

While their chocolate chip is their original and most popular, Tate's has other incredible flavors + gluten free options to choose from.

Their other flavors include:

Chocolate Chip Walnut, Coconut Crisp, Oatmeal Raisin, White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, Whole Wheat Dark Chocolate, Vanilla, Double Chocolate Chip, Coconut Macaroons and Shortbread.

Gluten Free options include:

Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate Chip, Ginger Zinger

While I've been loving these cookies straight from the bag for many years, I came across the suggestion on Tate's website to use them for ice cream sandwiches. GENIUS! I have no idea why I have never thought of that - but let me tell you, it takes this American classic to the next level. MUST TRY!

Tate's Bake Shop is located in South Hampton, New York. Can't travel to their HQ to get their cookies? No worries! You can order them online at  www.tatesbakeshop.com or buy them at various retailers in 43 states + Canada. Check out their site for exact retailer locations.

If you try out Tate's Bake Shop cookies be sure let me know! I'd love to see what you thought of them and if they became your new favorite cookie too! Tag me on Instagram @blondecravings or hashtag #blondecravings.

Zogg's Sea Hogg Street Eats

In recent years, food trucks have really blossomed into some of the most loved places to grab some grub. Honestly, what could possibly be better than a delicious meal on wheels? Because these restaurants on wheels usually specialize in only a few items, they make sure to perfect their craft. We had the chance to stop by a Delamarva favorite over the weekend: Zogg's Sea Hoggs

With a short, simple, but packin' the punch menu we had a hard time deciding on what to get. It all sounded delicious, and the incredible smells coming from the truck were making it even more difficult.

After much diliberation, we decided to order the Jerk Pulled Pork Nachos, Cabo Ahi Tuna Taco, and the Frosted Flake Tenders.

IMG_4855.JPG

When dining at a food truck, you usually expect (or at least I do) to get a smaller portion of food for a the amount you pay. I was pleasantly surprise to see how much food Sea Hogg Street Eats gives you for the low price of $9! And as you can see above $9 is the most expensive price you will pay at this food truck.

Besides the amazing food we had, we also have to take a minute to note that the staff working were so nice and extremely helpful when trying to figure out what to order. They truly added to the great experience.

They also gave us a heads up that they have a store front location in Rehoboth Beach, DE that we have to check out! If you're in the area, we highly recommend checking out Zogg's Sea Hogg Street Eats.

Big Chill Beach Club

If you are looking for a relaxing rooftop restaurant with a chilled out beach vibe, Big Chill Beach Club is the place to be!

Located in the Delaware Seashore State Park at the corner of the Atlantic Ocean and Indian River Inlet this restaurant gives you 360 views of the ocean, inlet, and bay.

We started the experience at the bar with oyster shooters and hand squeeze orange crushes.

Next we headed to the table to order a round of beers - Crooked Hammock Wai Ola California Ale with Coconut, Crooked Hammock Shoobie Belgian Blonde Ale, & Dogfish Sea Quench Ale.

dogfish2.jpg

The best part of the meal came all at once, like Christmas morning.

(1) Tuna Poke: Raw ahi-tuna, lemon-chile vinaigrette, brown rice, seaweed salad, avocado, edamame, and sesame seeds.

(2) Tacos - Baja Fish: beer battered cod, cabbage shreds, avocado, chipotle mayo, pico, pickled onions.  Beef Shorty: ancho rubbed short rib, tomatillo-arbol chile salsa, pickled red onion, crema.

(3) Julia Caesar + Grilled Mahi: romaine, tortilla strips, parmesan, poblano caesar dressing.

After dinner we walked down below the deck to hangout by the fire pit in the sand and play a round of corn hole before we headed home.

The Big Chill Beach Club definitely is the perfect place to be with friends, have a bite, and chill out. We had such an incredible experience, and cannot wait to come back in. Thank you again Big Chill Beach Club for having us.
